Data Scientist

Intervall explores and designs digital solutions at the highest level and implements them for customers. Our motivation: to shape our future digital society.

As Data Scientist (f/m/d) at Intervall, you are part of an interdisciplinary team and work on exciting, challenging and innovative projects for well-known customers from various sectors. You will act independently and strive to find intelligent and new solutions to problems.

Tasks

  • Management and coordination of diverse and exciting Data Science projects
  • Planning and execution of all phases of the Data Science process
  • Data Exploration - You analyze new datasets in preparation for Data Science experiments, apply statistical methods and visualize results in meaningful diagrams in interdisciplinary collaboration with the Design team
  • Data Curation - You work in a structured and purposeful way with common tools to make data usable and refine it for further Data Science experiments. You are familiar with processing even large data sets and automated labeling of field data
  • Data Lakehouse - You work on processing and storing data from various IoT devices in the field, using tools to monitor data streams and create real-time data visualizations as well as performance and storage optimization solutions.
  • Machine Learning - You support the design of new training, validation and testing datasets for machine learning as a basis for the development of new use cases in the areas of health, safety and smart home. You design measurement series in laboratories and in-field environments and support models throughout the entire machine learning lifecycle – from the concept for a new algorithm over implementation, training and testing to monitoring.
  • Documentation, presentation and explanation of results for customers, but also internally with colleagues and in talks
  • Close coordination and collaboration with Developers and Designers

Expertise

  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Engineering or comparable qualification
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the field of Data Science
  • Sound knowledge in statistics, machine learning and data warehousing / lakehousing
  • Knowledge of Python with common libraries (Numpy, Matplotlib, Pandas, Seaborn, PySpark) mandatory. Optional experience with Wolfram Language (Mathematica) and knowledge of AWS (e.g. S3, Glue, Athena, QuickSight) helpful.
  • Enjoy structured development of qualitative software using Git (CI/CD, Integration Testing, Unit Testing)
  • Passion and enthusiasm for elegant code
  • Analytical skills and a precise and independent way of working
  • Team player with commitment and high sense of responsibility (working independently, motivated, goal-oriented, pro-active)
  • Very good knowledge of the German and English language
